Answers to frequently asked questions about the church:
What kind of people make up Citylight?
Citylight is a diverse group of people seeking to know and love God, grow together in Christ-likeness, and serve others locally, regionally, and globally. Practically speaking, that means that some are just learning about Christianity for the first time, while others have been in church their whole lives. Citylight members span all different ethnicities, ages and backgrounds. Everyone is welcome.
What if I’m not used to going to church?
You have taken the right first step—thanks for looking at our site. We want Citylight to be a place where you can learn, apply and wrestle with who God is and what He wants for you. It’s okay if you don’t have it all figured out yet. In fact, Citylight was started especially for people just like you.
What will the worship service be like?
Citylight is a place where we keep it simple. It’s relaxed but focused. We don’t need to put on big productions for people to meet God. We believe that Jesus is enough. No matter where or when you attend, we follow a basic pattern of meeting together that can be traced back to the early Church. We teach from the Bible, we pray, and we sing. The goal is to love God and know him better by making the Bible’s truth accessible without watering it down.
What about my kids?
Citylight is a family-friendly environment. We believe that children are a blessing from God and should be taught about God in a fun learning environment. Citylight has an active children’s ministry. Simply ask the welcome team to direct you to City Kids.
Can I invite my friends?
Please do. We seek to be a welcoming place for people who are curious about Christianity or who are seeking to belong to a church family.
How can I get involved?
That’s a really great question. Why not visit the connections table this weekend before or after our Sunday A.M. service?
I have more questions; where do I get those answered?
Great! Why not get the conversation going by emailing Pastor Brian at firstname.lastname@example.org
